Definition: Mountains all around. Examples: Bergler (mountain man), bergnarrisch (mad about mountains). Here, there are mountains all around, nearly surrounding our estate: the Chiemgau, Salzburg, and Berchtesgadener Alps. But don’t worry; the road to us nonetheless doesn’t lead through the curvy, steep mountain passes. The A8 from Munich is right nearby. The impressive Holzhausen neighbourhood is adjacent to the community of Teisedorf, which has 9,000 inhabitants and is free of genetically modified crops. From there it’s about 6 miles to the Munich-Salzburg A8. Salzburg Airport is some 16 miles away. From Salzburg’s city centre, you can reach Teisendorf’s main train station in only 17 minutes. The warmest lake in Upper Bavaria, which can reach 27 degrees in the summer, is Waginger See, located only a couple of miles away. You can reach Chiemsee lake in 19 miles; the road to the edge of Berchtesgaden National Park is about 25 miles. It’s no further to Burghausen, which boasts the longest fortress in the world, an historically incomparable group of structures. Just a hop and a skip away are the countless beautiful surrounding villages and historic small towns.
